Former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Professor Dr Med. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng has responded to Oppong Nkrumah's denial of accusations made against him in a report sent to the Chief of Staff over two years ago.
In his response, Frimpong-Boateng advised Oppong Nkrumah to always remember that political power is short-lived and effervescent.
He further urged him to avoid the coded and evil tactics Mr Paul Adom Okyere spoke about on ‘Good Evening Ghana,' which Oppong Nkrumah allegedly employs to deal with his real and perceived enemies.
Regarding illegal mining, Frimpong-Boateng disclosed that he received a video recording of illegal mining activities close to Oppong Nkrumah's hometown from someone in his constituency.
He encouraged him to investigate it and take appropriate action, as illegal mining does not only refer to non-possession of a concession or mining permits but also includes mining close to water bodies, diversion of tailings into water bodies, mining in water bodies, use of dangerous chemicals such as mercury and cyanide, engagement of foreigners in small-scale mining, and non-reclamation of mined-out areas.
Frimpong-Boateng, who was also a former colleague of Oppong Nkrumah, related to him as a son and advised him to be diligent in his work and avoid unethical tactics that could mar his reputation in the future.
