An Circuit Court has remanded two individuals, Richard Kwame Tuffour, a 31-year-old driver, and Emmanuel Dabanka, an Electric Welder, into Police custody over allegations of robbing the Potsin Haoxim Quarry Manager of GH₵200,000.

The court has charged them with conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically robbery.

The accused persons are accused of hatching a plan to rob their manager, who had returned money to the site after being unable to pay the company's electricity bill due to a public holiday. Both Tuffour and Dabanka have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court presided over by Mr. Oheneba Kuffour, has set the next appearance date for February 7, 2024.

Prosecution, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Emmanuel Nyamekye, presented details of the case, stating that the accused persons were employees of Haoxin Quarry Limited located at Gomoa Kweikrom, near Potsin.

The alleged robbery plan involved intercepting the manager on his way to pay the electricity bill and stealing the money.

The accused persons, along with another accomplice, were arrested by the Police during an attempted robbery.

The prosecution explained that the manager and Chinese nationals on board the company's vehicle were intercepted, and Dabanka, with malicious intent, took the money and fled into the bush. Tuffour was apprehended, and GH₵140,000 was retrieved from Dabanka.
