A devastating accident occurred on Friday night near Bono Manso, a town on the Techiman-Kintampo Highway in the Bono East Region, resulting in the tragic deaths of five individuals.
According to reports, a speeding passenger bus travelling from Kintampo to Techiman collided head-on with a trailer transporting beverages, suspected to be alcoholic, heading in the opposite direction, causing the bus to catch fire.
While the police have confirmed that five people, including three on the bus and two on the trailer, lost their lives in the accident, eyewitnesses suggest that the actual number of casualties could be higher.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the oncoming trailer, leading to a fiery explosion that engulfed both vehicles, claiming the lives of many passengers onboard.

Nabilla Francis Sayuub, the Assemblyman for the Bono Manso Electoral Area, provided information from the scene, stating that he was notified of the accident late Friday night and that only a few passengers, approximately four, were able to be rescued.
The origins and destination of the bus remain uncertain at this time.
Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Joseph Kwasi Mensah, who visited the accident site, revealed that he had been informed that around 30 individuals may have perished in the tragic incident. He urged drivers to exercise caution, avoid speeding, and prioritize the preservation of lives.
