Tamale, Ghana – Ms. Fuseini Fadila, Executive Director of the Tiyumba Hope Foundation, has been honoured with a Transformative Leadership Award at a regional conference in Lomé, Togo, in recognition of her commitment to advancing inclusive development and gender justice at the grassroots level.
The award was presented during the Regional Conference on Leadership and Gender Justice, organised by the Faith to Action Network. The gathering brought together faith leaders, civil society organisations, and development actors from 15 West and Central African countries.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after receiving the award, Ms. Fuseini described the recognition as both “humbling and motivating.”
“This award is not just for me but for every woman and girl in our communities who continue to strive for equal rights and opportunities. It will spur us to work harder to dismantle the barriers that hold back progress and to ensure that development is inclusive for all,” she said.
Under Ms. Fuseini’s leadership, the Tiyumba Hope Foundation has spearheaded initiatives that promote girls’ education, enhance women’s participation in decision-making, and support community resilience programmes. She noted that the award affirmed the vital role of grassroots leadership in shaping broader regional change.
The conference also provided a platform for participants to share best practices, build partnerships, and strengthen collective action against gender-based inequalities in the sub-region.
