Presbyterian University Ghana to launch PhD programme in Development and Management

The Presbyterian University Ghana (PUG) has announced that it will launch a PhD programme in Development and Management later this year.

This announcement was made by Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, President of the University, at the 5th Congregation of the School of Graduate Studies, where 313 students graduated from various Master's level programmes.

According to Prof. Oduro Owusu, PUG has received accreditation from the to run the PhD in Development and Management and an MBA in Human Resource Management and Development, following the inspection of the school's facilities.

Additionally, there are other programmes currently undergoing development and accreditation, including a PhD in Leadership and Management, a Master of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies, an MBA in Project Development, and a Master of Science in Information Communication Technology.

The President of the University emphasized the importance of graduate studies and the need for developmental research that offers timely and relevant solutions to the country's problems.

He introduced “The Project in Mind, Product in Hand Concept” to ensure that students enrolled with a project in mind and graduated with a product in hand.

At the congregation, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the of Ghana and Chancellor of the University, Right Reverend Professor JOY Mante, called on the graduands to make a difference in society by exhibiting high moral standards and discipline associated with every level of Presbyterian training.

“The of Ghana (PCG) is working hard to add to the infrastructure of the university and the programmes to become a centre of excellence churning out hardworking people with high integrity to advance national development,” he added.

In total, 313 graduands received certificates in various Master's programmes, comprising 185 males and 128 females, including Master of Arts in International Development Studies, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Sanitation, Master of Science in Natural Resources Management, Master of Science in Financial Risk Management, Master of Public Health, and Master of Education in Educational Studies.
