In a recent memo dated January 2, 2024, the Peoples National Convention (PNC) unveiled its plans for upcoming internal elections and outlined the associated fees for prospective candidates.
The memo, addressed to all potential candidates, and sighted by The Ghanaian Standard, provides essential details about the election schedule and the financial requirements for those vying for various positions within the party.
The internal elections are set to be conducted in multiple phases. The regional elections are scheduled to transpire from January 15th to January 31st, 2024.
Following this, the national elections will be held on March 2nd, 2024, and the presidential elections are slated for March 24th, 2024.
Prospective candidates eligible to participate in these elections can obtain their nomination forms from the regional and national offices starting January 4th, 2024.
The costs associated with these forms vary based on the level of the elections: GH¢200 for regional, GH¢500 for national, and GH¢2000 for presidential.
Moreover, specific fees are stipulated for candidates based on the positions they intend to contest. The presidential candidature comes with a fee of GH¢100,000.
For the national chairperson, the fee is GH¢35,000, while the vice chairperson and general secretary are required to pay GH¢25,000 each.
Aspirants for the positions of national organizer, national women's organizer, national treasurer, and national youth organizer have fees set at GH¢15,000, and deputy positions aspirants in the national elections must pay GH¢5,000 each.
In the regional elections, the fees differ: from GH¢3,000 for regional chairperson aspirants, GH¢2,000 for the vice chairperson and regional secretary, and GH¢1,500 for the regional organizer, regional women organizer, regional youth organizer, and regional treasurer.
Deputy position aspirants in the regional elections are obliged to pay GH¢500 each.
It's noteworthy that women contestants in all positions are entitled to a 50% reduction in the specified fees for their respective positions.

All payments for the nomination forms and filing fees are required to be made through a banker's draft in the name of the Peoples National Convention.
