Mount Olivet Methodist Church celebrates 50 years of impactful service: Ghana News

The Mount Olivet Methodist Church in Dansoman, within the Ablekuma West Municipality, joyously celebrated its 50th-anniversary, reflecting on the successes achieved since its establishment.

The year-long commemoration, themed “Discipline: Sustaining the Legacy of Jesus Christ; Impacting Lives for 50 years. Thus far and beyond,” encompassed various activities aimed at highlighting 's journey.

The festivities included lectures on the theme by Methodist University lecturers, a musical concert, children's evangelism in communities, a Bible quiz, discussions on Methodist songs and their meanings, special donations to the Dansoman Polyclinic, and a thanksgiving service.

Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, the Superintendent Minister of Mount Olivet, delivered a sermon titled “Heaven shall be open onto you to see the glory of God,” emphasizing the importance of applying biblical doctrines for effective gospel propagation.

Rev. Andam stressed the necessity for maintaining high moral standards, especially among Christian leaders, to overcome societal challenges and vices.

Expressing optimism about the transformative power of spreading the gospel, Rev. Andam urged commitment to God's work and abiding by His words, believing that such dedication would impact those yet unreached.

He quoted scripture, “The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure,” highlighting the blessings that come with sacrificial service.

Rev. Andam also called for national unity, urging Ghanaians to avoid divisive politics. He emphasized that Ghana's progress hinges on peace and stability, calling on political leaders to be agents of peace.

Mrs. Ursula Ekuful, the Member of for Ablekuma West, joined the celebration alongside Mr. George Bray, the Municipal Chief Executive.

Mrs. Ekuful made an undisclosed donation to the Planning Committee of , contributing to the success of the anniversary celebration.
