The 37 Military Hospital has announced its intention to conduct a mass burial for identified but unclaimed as well as unidentified bodies on September 1.
The decision comes as a measure to alleviate the congestion at the hospital's morgue, which is hindering its daily operations.
In a statement released by the Ghana Armed Forces on August 2, the hospital encouraged the relatives of unclaimed bodies to visit the Department of Anatomical Pathology of the 37 Military Hospital between August 3 and August 31, 2023, to claim the bodies.
The hospital stressed the importance of addressing the congestion issue and highlighted that the last mass burial exercise was conducted on March 11, 2017.
The public has been urged to assist in identifying the bodies before the scheduled mass burial on September 1, 2023.
