Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has been left out of Tottenham Hotspur’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.
The 25-year-old will remain at Hotspur Way alongside teammates Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski and Wilson Odobert, who are also recovering from injuries, while the rest of the squad travels for the pre-season fixtures.

Tottenham confirmed the decision after naming a 35-man squad for the tour, with the club opting to keep the quartet in London to complete their recovery programmes under the supervision of the medical team.
Kudus has been working towards full fitness after an injury-disrupted second half of the 2025–26 season. The setback also ruled him out of Ghana’s FIFA World Cup squad, denying the Black Stars one of their key attacking players during the tournament in North America.
Although he will miss pre-season matches against Auckland FC, Sydney FC and Chelsea, the club believes remaining at Hotspur Way will provide the best environment for the winger to complete the final phase of his rehabilitation ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Ghanaian joined Tottenham from West Ham United in July 2025 in a deal reportedly worth around £55 million and made an encouraging start to his career with the North London club.
Before suffering the injury, the former Ajax and FC Nordsjælland forward contributed important goals and assists as he established himself as a regular in Tottenham’s attack.
Kudus is expected to resume full training in the coming weeks as he targets a return before the start of the new season.
His progress will also be closely monitored by Ghana ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the Black Stars hoping to have one of their leading attackers fully fit after he missed the FIFA World Cup through injury.
