Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to excel at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, saying the team has the quality to exceed expectations on the global stage.
He made the remarks when the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, paid a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House to present the newly designed PUMA Black Stars jersey and seek government support ahead of the tournament.

Dr. Bawumia thanked the GFA for the visit and the personalized jersey, stating that he had high hopes the Black Stars would surprise many football fans with their performances in Qatar.
He wished the team success in its final preparations and encouraged the players to make Ghana proud at the World Cup.
The Black Stars were scheduled to begin their Group H campaign against Portugal before facing South Korea and Uruguay.
