Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, the newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for South Tongu, has promised significant developmental projects for the constituency if elected into Parliament in the 2024 general elections.

Lukutor made this assurance during a media interview held in Sogakope, located in the Volta region. He expressed his longstanding desire to represent the people in Parliament to expedite the area's development and improve the economic conditions of its residents.

Having previously failed in three attempts, Lukutor emerged victorious in the primary, securing 597 votes. He defeated the incumbent Member of Parliament, Kobena Mensah Woyome, who garnered 562 votes.

Lukutor, a professional surveyor, outlined his plans to advocate for various infrastructure projects. His agenda includes the construction of additional feeder roads, the upgrading and resurfacing of town roads to attract investment and tourism, and the extension of electricity and clean drinking water to communities lacking these essential amenities. He also aims to generate job opportunities for unemployed youth and women in the area.

Expressing his gratitude to the delegates and party supporters for electing him as their candidate, Lukutor called upon all constituents to unite behind him and vote overwhelmingly in the 2024 general elections. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in building a better South Tongu.
