Kumasi, Sept 18, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday joined the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the people of Asanteman at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to mourn the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III.

The President signed the book of condolence opened in her honour and, in his tribute, expressed the nation’s sympathy.

“We are all united in grief and solidarity with the chiefs and people of Ashanti.”

Thursday, September 18, marked the conclusion of the four-day funeral rites, which commenced on Monday, September 15.

The solemn ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia, as well as former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
