Ghana's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to attend the grand finale of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ). This marks the first time that the President is expected to address the audience at the competition, a special occasion commemorating NSMQ's 30th anniversary.
The highly anticipated final contest is scheduled for Monday, October 30, 2023, at the National Theater in Accra. The 2023 NSMQ finale features a battle of champions, with all finalists having a strong history in the competition.
The competing schools include two-time champions Opoku Ware School (OWASS), seven-time champions Presbyterian Boys Senior High, Legon (PRESEC), and two-time champions, Achimota School (MOTOWN). MOTOWN's participation in the finale marks their return after fourteen years, OWASS returns after three years, and PRESEC graces the finale for the fifth consecutive year.
PRESEC aims to secure an eighth NSMQ trophy, while OWASS seeks its third, and Achimota School hopes to secure its third trophy as well. The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as these schools compete for the coveted NSMQ championship.
