Upper East NPP Regional Chairman suspends 6 Pusiga Constituency executives

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Pusiga Constituency has been hit with internal controversy following the suspension of six constituency executives over alleged anti-party behaviour.

A directive issued in a letter dated February 20, 2025, and signed by Upper East Regional NPP Chairman, Anthony Namoo, Esq., instructed the affected executives to step aside while they await a hearing before the party’s regional disciplinary committee.

The suspended officials include:

  • Awinimi Emmanuel – Constituency Communication Officer
  • Belingumse Sawuda – 2nd Vice Chairman
  • Haruna Salam – Assistant Secretary
  • Kazussah Jacob – Treasurer
  • Salifu Ibn Adam – Elections and Research Officer
  • Iddrisu Kadiri – Deputy Nasara Coordinator

The sudden suspension has raised concerns within the party, with some of the affected executives expressing surprise over the decision. Awinimi Emmanuel, the constituency’s Communication Officer, confirmed receiving the letter but stated that he was unaware of any wrongdoing.

“When I opened the letter, they said they had suspended me as Communication Officer of the party in the constituency and that the Regional Disciplinary Committee will invite me. I said okay. So I took my letter. That is all I can say,” he told Citi News.
