Hon. Eric Afful – MP for Amenfi West

Hon. Eric Afful serves as the Member of Parliament for Amenfi West on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). A native of Asankrangwa, he was born on Tuesday, 1st January 1974, and is a committed Christian. He has been a steady parliamentary presence since the 6th Parliament, maintaining his seat through the 7th and 8th Parliaments.

Hon. Afful’s academic journey reflects deep expertise in governance, economics, and human resource development. He earned a B.Ed in Social Science from the University of Cape Coast in 2002, followed by a Master’s in Human Resource Development from the same institution in 2010. He also holds an MSc in Economic Planning and Development from KNUST (2015), a Certified Chartered Economist designation (2020), and recently completed a Ph.D. in Human Letters at Elohim Theological Seminary College, USA, in 2024.

In Parliament, he brings his academic and professional depth to bear as Chairperson of the Economy and Development Committee and a member of the Public Administration and State Interests Committee.and the Privileges and Immunities Committee.
