Nana John Gyamfi, the Oti Regional liaison campaign coordinator for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to throw their full support behind the former Vice President as the party prepares for its January 31, 2026, presidential primaries.

In an interview with journalist, Nana Gyamfi expressed strong confidence in Dr Bawumia’s prospects, stating that he was well positioned to retain the party’s flagbearership and advance its development agenda.

He underscored the need for cohesion within the party, urging members to rise above what he described as artificial ethnic divisions and focus on unity. “Dr Bawumia needs support, rally behind him as never before and push his development agenda.

When Dr Bawumia is chosen, the decision must be respected and nothing must be done to muddy the waters,” he added.

With 67 days to the primaries, activity within the Oti Region has intensified, as campaign coordinators for the various aspirants actively engage delegates across communities.

Nana Gyamfi appealed to delegates, the media and the nation to support Dr Bawumia’s candidature, emphasising that a united front would strengthen the party’s chances ahead of national elections.

Campaign teams in the region are employing a range of strategies, from door-to-door canvassing to community outreach,as they work to win the support of delegates for their respective candidates.
