President John Dramani Mahama has begun the first day of his Resetting Ghana Tour of the Volta Region with a series of project inspections and development engagements.
The tour started at Juapong, where the President cut the sod for the construction of 18 24-Hour Economy Model Markets across the region’s Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies as part of the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.

He later visited Peki College of Education to inspect a newly completed 1,500-seat multipurpose assembly hall before travelling to Sokode to assess progress on the Asikuma-Ho Road project under the Big Push Programme.
At the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho, President Mahama inspected the university’s multi-purpose laboratory complex, which is described as the largest of its kind in West Africa.
The President also held an educational durbar on the Free Primary Health Care Programme to engage residents on the government’s plans to expand access to healthcare.
President Mahama is expected to continue the tour on July 17 with a town hall meeting at Ho Technical University, where he will engage chiefs and residents of the Volta Region. He is also scheduled to inspect the Ho Sports Stadium and commission projects in the region.
