Parliament has restructured its committees, appointing new leaders to strengthen legislative oversight and accountability.
In a major change, Abena Osei-Asare has been named Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), replacing former Ketu North MP James Avedzi. The PAC plays a crucial role in scrutinizing government spending and ensuring financial accountability.
Additionally, Isaac Adongo, MP for Bolgatanga Central, has been appointed Chairman of the Finance Committee. With his background in economic and fiscal matters, he is expected to lead discussions on the national budget, tax policies, and other financial regulations.
Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng will now chair the Budget Committee, which oversees the formulation and execution of the national budget to align with Ghana’s development goals.
These appointments signal Parliament’s commitment to enhancing its oversight functions and promoting transparency in governance.
