Oti Region: Police officer donates to needy widows and aged

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Francis Okuntey has demonstrated the spirit of by donating assorted items worth thousands of Cedis to support widows and the aged in Dormabin, a suburb of in the Region.

The generous donation included 50 bags of rice, 300 GTP wax prints, 20 boxes of 1.5-litre cooking oil, 20 boxes of sardines, 50 tins of tomatoes, an undisclosed amount of money, and a bull for the beneficiaries.

The items were presented by Madam Jennifer Asiedu on behalf of DSP Okuntey.

Quoting Acts 20:35, which emphasizes the importance of helping the weak, DSP Okuntey expressed that the donation aimed to show love and bring joy to widows and the elderly during the Christmas season.

He emphasized the significance of Christmas as a time for giving, especially to those in need.

The recipients, particularly widows and the aged in the community expressed gratitude for the timely and generous gesture.

An 80-year-old woman, Madam Christian Fosua, commended DSP Okuntey, stating that the donation would provide much-needed support during the festive season.

Another beneficiary, 73-year-old Madam Onibia Akosua, expressed her gratitude and noted that she had never witnessed such a generous gesture in her life.

Nana Papaw Obuanya Okontwasua IV, Chief of Dormabin, also thanked DSP Okuntey for honouring the aged and widows in the community.

He prayed for blessings and strength for the police officer, hoping for continued generosity in the coming years.
