North Tongu, Volta Region – The Member of Parliament (MP) for the North Tongu constituency in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has extended a warm welcome to newly posted nurses and midwives by offering them one month of free accommodation.
In addition to this gesture, the MP's office will provide them with free laptops during their stay in the constituency.
Mr. Ablakwa, in a Facebook post, explained that this initiative aims to create a conducive environment for the new healthcare workers to settle, work, and secure permanent accommodation.

He expressed hope that this intervention would encourage nurses and midwives to stay and serve in his constituency, especially during a period when the country is witnessing a significant exodus of healthcare professionals seeking better working conditions abroad.
The MP expressed his gratitude to the District Health Directorate and the management of Best Care Hotel in Battor, Royal Masito in Mepe, and KOYA Lodge in Juapong for their partnership in this endeavour, which he believes will contribute to saving lives.
