NPP to hold parliamentary primaries in Dome Kwabenya Constituency: Ghana News

The New Patriotic Party () is gearing up for Parliamentary Primaries scheduled to take place in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency on Saturday, with 1,840 delegates expected to cast their votes.

Mr. Osei Bonsu, Dome Kwabenya Constituency Chair of the NPP, confirmed that preparations are almost complete following a meeting with candidates, the (EC), police, and other stakeholders.

He assured that accreditation for all delegates has been completed and urged candidates to ensure calm among their supporters during the elections.

The delegates comprise the council of elders, patrons, coordinators, and constituency executives. Polls are set to open and close between 7am and 2pm on Saturday.

The contest in Dome Kwabenya is mainly between the incumbent, Ms. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo, and Mr. Mike Oquaye Jnr, with a third candidate, Ms. Sheela Sakyi Oppong Adoma, also in the running.

Mr. Osei Bonsu emphasized unity among the candidates and supporters, stressing the importance of focusing on the party's broader agenda rather than internal strife.

Dome Kwabenya, known as the largest constituency in the country, holds significance in NPP .

In the 2020 primaries, Ms. Sarfo secured victory and went on to win the seat with a substantial margin in the national elections.

Both Mr. Oquaye Jnr and Ms. Oppong Adoma have outlined their plans for constituency development, including improvements in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and job creation for the youth.
