The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has been apprehended by the Special Prosecutor for reportedly distributing money to delegates in preparation for the NPP Parliamentary primaries.
Felix Amakye, the New Patriotic Party's Asante Akim Central constituency secretary, revealed in an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM that Nkansah's rival, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi, brought the alleged money-sharing to the attention of the Special Prosecutor.
In response to the report, Nkansah was taken into custody and later transported to his office in Accra to cooperate with the ongoing investigations.
Notably, Nkansah is the primary contender challenging the incumbent, Anyimadu Antwi, for the Asante Akim Central parliamentary seat. The NPP is scheduled to hold parliamentary primaries for constituencies with sitting MPs on January 27th.
