Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, has reiterated the need for enhanced fire safety measures in the district following a working visit to the Kasoa Main and Budumburum fire stations.
The visit aimed to assess the challenges firefighters face and explore ways to improve their working conditions through better equipment. Hon. Okunor emphasized that equipping the stations with essential firefighting tools would strengthen emergency response and fire prevention efforts in the area.
Among the critical resources identified were fire extinguishers for containing small fires, fire sprinkler systems for automatic detection and suppression, and fire hoses with nozzles for directing water streams during firefighting operations. The MP also highlighted the importance of personal protective equipment for firefighter safety, as well as rescue and utility trucks fitted with essential tools such as winches, rotary saws, and hydraulic equipment.
She underscored that investing in these resources would empower firefighters to respond effectively to emergencies and enhance overall fire safety in the community.
Hon. Okunor’s visit forms part of her ongoing commitment to supporting essential services and ensuring the well-being of residents in the Awutu Senya East district.
