In a bid to enhance the business capabilities of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, MTN Ghana organized a training session in Kumasi focused on utilizing the Internet for product marketing.
The training, which was part of MTN’s annual 21 Days volunteer work initiative, benefitted approximately 150 association members.
During the session, participants received not only internet marketing training but also basic instruction in customer care, bookkeeping, and accounting ethics.
As the business landscape continues to evolve, Mr Simon Amoh, Senior Manager of Regional Sales at MTN Northern Business District, emphasized the importance of incorporating technology knowledge into the skill sets of business owners.
“Businesses have moved on, and those who are thriving in this current world have knowledge in technology in addition to the skills they are marketing,” stated Mr Amoh.
He further encouraged business owners to prioritize customer satisfaction and to maintain quality service, as it contributes to retaining existing customers and attracting new ones.
MTN staff from various branches provided hands-on assistance to the beneficiaries, helping them access data services and applications available on the MTN platform.
Mr Nicholas Amissah, Chairman of the Ahodwo branch of the Association, expressed gratitude to MTN for the valuable training, noting that it had provided insights into effectively serving customers and growing their businesses.
While appreciating the training, Mr Emmanuel Dalongo, Training Coordinator for the GNTDA, appealed to both MTN and the government for further support.
He requested assistance in securing a dedicated location at the Wood Village in Sokoban, where the association could establish an enclave for apprentices after they complete their training.
