Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu is set to undergo pubalgia (sports hernia) surgery after experiencing persistent pain during the international break, as announced by his club AS Monaco over the weekend.
The 24-year-old has yet to make his debut for the French Ligue 1 club since his transfer from Southampton during the summer.
AS Monaco's statement regarding the situation states, “Following persistent pain during the international break, Mohamed Salisu (pubalgia) will undergo a surgical intervention in the coming days.”
Salisu, formerly of Real Valladolid, has not played a competitive game since March 2023. His move to AS Monaco saw him sign a five-year contract for a transfer fee of 15 million euros after his stint with Southampton.
