Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, the Director of the , has shed light on prevalent areas of litigation, highlighting land, , and commercial matters as primary sources of legal disputes.

Speaking on The Point of View on Citi TV, the Manwerehene of Akyem Abuakwa underscored land disputes as the most prevalent, surpassing other categories of cases. He emphasized the significance of land, noting its status as a paramount inheritance and a fundamental resource akin to human capital.

Oppong noted that approximately 70% of litigation cases are land-related, reflecting the centrality of land ownership and utilization in societal affairs. Additionally, he highlighted matrimonial disputes, including divorce proceedings, as another significant area of legal contention.

While land and matrimonial cases dominate the legal landscape, Oppong also acknowledged commercial matters as a substantial source of litigation. He emphasized the importance of addressing disputes in these key areas to uphold legal order and facilitate societal harmony.
