The move is viewed as an endorsement of the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, whose leadership since 1999 has shaped a clear, consistent, and legitimate foreign policy grounded in sovereignty, dialogue, and solidarity.

Under the King’s guidance, Morocco’s diplomacy has transformed into a proactive and multidimensional force, operating on long-term principles of state continuity and steady consolidation of the country’s global standing. This approach has established Morocco as a stabilising actor in regional and international affairs.

Central to Morocco’s diplomacy is its deep engagement with Africa. His Majesty has conducted more than 50 official visits to over thirty African nations, advancing South-South cooperation through shared development, human capital investment, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives. The Kingdom’s return to the African Union in 2017, the Atlantic Initiative connecting African coastal states, and the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline are hallmarks of this pan-African vision.

In the Arab world, Morocco continues to uphold a balanced and principled diplomatic stance. It has strengthened strategic ties with Gulf nations while maintaining steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. As Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, His Majesty has championed peace and humanitarian initiatives for the Palestinian people.

Morocco’s global outreach extends beyond traditional allies such as the United States, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, encompassing strategic partnerships with emerging powers including China, Russia, and India.

Within the United Nations system, Morocco remains an active advocate for inclusive and equitable global governance. With nearly 2,000 peacekeepers serving in UN missions, the Kingdom demonstrates its enduring commitment to peace, stability, and human rights.

The Security Council’s latest resolution further consolidates Morocco’s international legitimacy and reinforces global support for its Autonomy Plan, now endorsed by more than 125 countries.

Meanwhile, the Southern Provinces are undergoing rapid transformation under the New Development Model launched by His Majesty to promote prosperity and full territorial integration.

Through consistent diplomacy and visionary leadership, His Majesty King Mohammed VI has positioned Morocco as a key international actor, one that defends just causes, promotes dialogue, and contributes to a world rooted in peace, cooperation, and shared progress.
