He was received on arrival by Lord Katz MBE of the Royal Household, Gordon Wetherell, Special Representative of the Secretary of State for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sabah Zita Benson.

According to the Presidency, the visit will seek to deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom, promote Ghana as an investment destination and strengthen engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora.

As part of the visit, President Mahama is expected to hold a royal audience with King Charles III and a breakfast meeting with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

He will also attend a diaspora town hall meeting hosted by the Ghana High Commission in London.

On June 1, the President is scheduled to open the Ghana-UK Investment Summit at Raffles, an event aimed at attracting foreign direct investment and promoting partnerships between Ghanaian entrepreneurs and British investors.

The Presidency said President Mahama will also visit the London Stock Exchange, where he will ring the bell to mark the official start of trading.

He is further expected to deliver an address at Chatham House and a keynote speech at the 12th Africa Debate at Guildhall, London.

The President’s visit is expected to end on June 3, 2026.
