Health Ministry experts inspect progress of GH¢3 million CHPS Compound in Susuanho

A team of experts from the has conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of a GH¢3 million Community-based Health Planning and Service () Compound in Susuanho, Tano North Municipality of the Region.

The inspection team comprised of Mr. Franklin Bezagrebere and Mr. Jacob Twene, an Architect and a Civil Engineer respectively, along with Ms. Bless Yapa Darku, also a Civil Engineer.

The construction of the CHPS Compound, spearheaded by Dr , Member of for Tano North Constituency, is funded by the government and is expected to be completed within six months.

The facility will feature accommodations for nurses and doctors and will be equipped with modern medical devices and equipment to bring healthcare services to the community.

During the site visit, Mr Twene emphasized the importance of ensuring quality work by conducting inspections. He also cautioned contractors involved in similar projects across the country to avoid shoddy work.

Mr. Peter Kyeremeh, the Managing Director of PETMAT Construction Works, the executing company, expressed confidence in completing the project on time with the cooperation of the community. He urged the locals to support the project.

Dr. Prempeh, who is also a Minister of State at the Office of the President, encouraged the construction firm to engage local residents, especially young women, for menial jobs.

She emphasized the need for those engaged in the project to demonstrate diligence and avoid any behaviour that could hinder progress.

Dr. Prempeh highlighted the urgency of the facility, as it will greatly assist pregnant women who currently face difficulties in accessing appropriate healthcare services. Once completed, the CHPS Compound will provide a convenient and accessible option for labor and delivery in the area.
