The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has requested a legal opinion from the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice on several contracts signed under its jurisdiction.
In line with President John Dramani Mahama‘s commitment to zero tolerance for corruption and ensuring value for money in public-private partnerships, the sector minister is seeking legal advice on the terms, compliance, and viability of key agreements.
The contracts under review include:
- The commercialisation of the e-Government Infrastructure by Lebara Ghana Ltd and Smart Infraco Ghana Ltd.
- The design, development, and implementation of a Common Platform for traffic monitoring, revenue assurance, mobile money monitoring, and fraud management by Kelni GVG Ltd.
This request marks the first phase of a broader legal review of contracts executed under the ministry. The government has assured the public that updates will be provided following the Attorney-General’s response and any subsequent actions.
