The Honourable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, was bestowed with the prestigious National Order of Merit, Cooperation and Development Medal by President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of the Republic of Guinea Bissau. The honor was conferred on Tuesday, 16th May 2023, during the State Visit of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to Guinea Bissau from 14th to 16th May 2023.
In a brief ceremony, Honourable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey expressed her profound gratitude to President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, the Government, and People of Guinea Bissau for the recognition bestowed upon her.
Hon Ayorkor acknowledged that the award not only serves as an honor for herself but also reflects the recognition of the President and the people of Ghana. Furthermore, she extended her appreciation to President Akufo-Addo, attributing the honor to his unwavering confidence in her by entrusting her with the role of Foreign Minister.
