Ghana to celebrate national chocolate week

The (GTA), in collaboration with (Ghana Cocoa Board) and the Cocoa Processing Company, is set to celebrate National Chocolate Week from February 9 to 14, 2024. The event, celebrated under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, aims to promote the consumption of chocolate and highlight its health benefits.

This year's theme is “Eat chocolate, stay healthy, grow Ghana,” with the sub-theme “Explore Ghana, eat chocolate.” Activities for the week include a health walk, exhibition at Chocolate City, family day, church visitation, cook-off session, time with school children, cocoa quiz competition for Senior High Schools, and a Chocolatarium summit for chocolate industry players.

National Chocolate Week, established in 2005, coincides with Valentine's Day on February 14, aiming to boost domestic consumption of Ghanaian chocolate and cocoa-based products. The celebration was extended to a week-long event in 2021.
