GES hosts 69th Independence Quiz competition in Accra

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is set to stage its 69th Independence Quiz Competition on Sunday, 1st March 2026, at the GNAT Hostel, Bediako Hall, Adabraka in Accra.

Organised as part of activities marking Ghana’s Independence celebrations, the competition will bring together four senior high schools from across the country in a battle of intellect under the theme: “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.”

The participating schools are Bolgatanga Senior High School, Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High School, Akumadan Senior High School, and Keta Senior High School.

Each institution is expected to demonstrate academic excellence, critical thinking, and deep knowledge of Ghana’s history and contemporary issues.

The annual quiz competition forms part of GES’s efforts to promote patriotism, academic competitiveness, and national consciousness among students.

It also provides a platform to celebrate Ghana’s educational achievements while inspiring the youth to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The event will be broadcast live on Radio Ghana, allowing the wider public to follow the contest and support their respective schools.

GES has encouraged students, teachers, and the general public to participate and engage in the celebration of knowledge and national pride as the country marks 69 years of independence.
