“Fashion is about creativity. When it was time for our fashion show, I thought about how pure water rubbers are polluting our environment, so I decided to collect, wash, and sew them into a top and trousers,” he said.
The versatile outfit can be worn at fashion events and even doubles as a raincoat. Emmanuel also revealed plans to create caps and other designs using the same material, promoting eco-friendly fashion in Ghana.
Having completed Vakpo Senior High Technical School in 2022, Emmanuel further honed his skills during a one-year industrial attachment with SASA Clothing in Ho.
SASA Clothing CEO, Mr Wilson Amos Kwabla Agblemor, lauded Emmanuel’s discipline and talent:
“He is a hardworking and talented young designer with a bright future in the fashion industry.”
Emmanuel’s work reflects a growing trend among Ghanaian designers to merge creativity with sustainability, offering practical solutions to environmental challenges while pushing the boundaries of fashion innovation.
