The Ghana Police Service has deployed a special security team to Gbeniyiri following reprisal attacks between members of the Brifo and Fulani communities in the area.
According to a statement from the Savannah Regional Police Command, the deployment was ordered by the Inspector-General of Police to help restore security and support ongoing investigations into the clashes.

The special team, made up of intelligence officers and investigators, has been tasked to work with the regional police command to strengthen security in the community and identify those responsible for the attacks.
Police say the team will also assist in gathering intelligence and carrying out operations aimed at arresting the perpetrators and ensuring they face justice.
Authorities indicated that calm has since been restored in the town, while security personnel continue to maintain a strong presence to prevent further disturbances.
The Ghana Police Service has assured residents and the general public that efforts are underway to track down those involved in the attacks and bring them before the law.
