Mr Maher Kheir, the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, has formally bid farewell to President John Dramani Mahama at the Presidency in Accra following the completion of his seven-year duty tour.
President Mahama commended Ambassador Kheir for his dedication and the positive impact of his work on the diplomatic community in Ghana, as well as his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Lebanon.

Highlighting Ghana’s commitment to peace and security, President Mahama reaffirmed the country’s ongoing contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Ambassador Kheir, in turn, expressed gratitude to the audience, praising Ghana for its strong democratic credentials and long-standing peacekeeping record, particularly its involvement in UNIFIL since 1978.
During the farewell meeting, Ambassador Kheir also briefed the President on initiatives undertaken during his tenure to deepen cooperation between the two nations in areas including education, culture, and trade, underscoring the enduring partnership between Ghana and Lebanon.
