The Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has launched its maiden Eminent Legal Scholars Public Lecture Series to promote intellectual discussions on legal education and national development.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson said the initiative would provide a platform for experts from different fields to exchange ideas that support economic transformation through law and technology. She stressed that technological advancement must be matched by strong legal frameworks to drive sustainable socio-economic growth.

The maiden lecture, themed “A Very Convenient Marriage: Law and Technology in the Quest for Economic Transformation,” was delivered by Prof. Kofi Oteng Kufuor, Co-General Editor of the African Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Prof. Kufuor emphasized that effective laws are essential for technological innovation and development. He called on Ghana to protect freedom of speech and expression, strengthen democratic institutions, and establish legal frameworks that encourage innovation, saying these measures are key to making Ghana globally competitive.
