Pink for Africa donates GH¢30,000 to Ho Teaching Hospital to support breast cancer patients in Volta Region

Pink for Africa, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients and survivors, has donated GH¢30,000 to the Surgical Sub-BMC of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) to assist women undergoing treatment.

The donation forms part of the group’s ongoing efforts to provide financial, emotional, and physical support to patients battling breast cancer in the Volta Region and beyond.

Ms Juliette Erawoc Mills-Lutterodt, Founder and Lead of Pink for Africa, shared her personal journey as a breast cancer survivor during the presentation, urging patients to “wear your confidence boldly” and emphasising that “no one is defined by illness, strength and courage are your greatest allies.”

In addition to the cash support, the organisation presented breast prostheses to women who had undergone mastectomy procedures and pledged to sustain monthly contributions to ease patients’ financial burdens and boost morale during treatment.

Receiving the items, Dr Nelson Kosi Affram, Head of the Surgical Sub-BMC at HTH, expressed profound gratitude for Pink for Africa’s partnership. “This thoughtful gesture brings hope and dignity to our patients. We are truly grateful for your compassion,” he said, assuring that the funds would be used strictly for their intended purpose.

A representative from the hospital’s Internal Audit Department, present at the brief ceremony, reaffirmed management’s commitment to transparency and accountability in utilising the donation.

Pink for Africa continues to serve as a beacon of strength, transforming personal struggle into a movement of collective support and healing for women living with breast cancer across Ghana.
