The Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has charged the Ghana Military Nurses and Midwives to continue demonstrating compassion, pursue professional excellence and remain dedicated to service “by land, sea and air,” as she closed the 2026 Military Nightingales’ Week Celebration.
The week-long celebration provided a platform to promote professional development, recognise outstanding service and honour the contributions of both serving and retired personnel to healthcare delivery.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of drawing on the experience and knowledge of retired nurses and midwives to help prepare the next generation of health professionals.
She congratulated the awardees and honourees and expressed appreciation to the organisers, the leadership of the 37 Military Hospital, sponsors, partners and personnel whose contributions helped make the celebration a success.
Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah further assured the Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services of the Ministry of Health’s continued support for the welfare, training and professional advancement of military nurses and midwives, before declaring the Military Nightingales’ Week Celebration 2026 officially closed.
