GAFCSC graduates 77 officers from Junior Staff Course 84

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in Teshie has held a graduation ceremony for participants of Junior Staff Course 84 at the Hamidu Hall of the institution.

The ceremony, held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, marked the successful completion of 19 weeks of intensive training by a total of 77 officer students, made up of 62 Ghanaian officers and 15 allied students drawn from sister African countries.

Delivering an address as Guest of Honour, retired Brigadier General Cosmos Bretu Alhassan commended the College for its sustained role in grooming strategic leaders for national and regional security responsibilities.

He reflected on the College’s legacy of excellence and transformation, noting its significant impact on the professional development of officers across the African continent.

Brig Gen Alhassan congratulated the graduands for their discipline, hard work and cooperation throughout the course, urging them to apply the leadership and professional knowledge acquired to their respective appointments.

He cautioned against complacency and stressed the need for continuous learning and professionalism in an evolving security environment, reminding the officers of the College’s tradition of producing future leaders.

The Acting Commandant of the College, Brigadier General Jackson Wonje, also praised the graduands for their resilience and performance during the course.

He encouraged them to serve as ambassadors of excellence and to continue demonstrating professionalism, leadership and commitment in all local and international assignments.

At the ceremony, participants who met the course requirements were awarded Postgraduate Diploma Certificates, while outstanding students received special recognition.

Captain Daniel Boadu Opoku was adjudged the Overall Best Student, Squadron Leader Getrude Sefakor Alorvor won the award for Best Assistant Commandant’s Paper, and Captain Clement Ada of the Nigerian Army was named Best Allied Student.
