War leaders across Ghana have been urged to lay down their arms and embrace peace as the country grapples with growing social and political divisions.
The call came from Apostle Dr Kadmiel E.H. Agbelenyo, Leader and Founder of the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation, during the annual Atonement Day ceremony at Shallom-Otiakrom near Aburi in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region. He appealed to political and religious leaders, as well as the wider public, to reflect on their actions and seek reconciliation with Yahweh Quadosh Israel.

Describing the “10th Ethanim” as God’s appointed day for forgiveness, he said the sacred occasion provides an opportunity for divine healing and national repentance. He reminded his congregation that God’s love surpasses all, explaining that the institution of the Day of Atonement demonstrates mercy, not wrath. As part of the rituals, he directed members to observe a one-day fast in line with Ezekiel 45:16–17, to complement his intercessory prayers.
Warning that those who reject the message of atonement would face God’s judgment without mercy, Apostle Dr Agbelenyo urged believers to present themselves before the High Priest for reconciliation. He also pointed to longstanding theological debates over the relevance of atonement, noting that while many Protestant churches dismiss the practice, his congregation upholds its validity under the Messianic dispensation. According to him, the sacrifice of animals has been replaced by Christ, the Lamb of Yahweh, ordained as High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.
He stressed that only those who understand the prophetic revelations in Revelation 5:8–10 and 8:1–5 can fully appreciate the Messianic atonement. His message, he said, stands as a reminder for Ghanaians to seek repentance, unity, and peace in confronting the nation’s challenges.
