Mr. Vincent Gbadegbe, philanthropist and CEO of Let Your Light Shine Enterprise, a building materials company in Denu, Ketu South Municipality, Volta Region, has pledged to construct a new ward complex for the Denu Health Centre. The project aims to provide dedicated and comfortable spaces for patients, including pregnant women, and improve overall healthcare services for residents of Denu and the wider municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gbadegbe said the initiative arose from a recent visit to the facility, where he observed challenges such as insufficient wards and accommodation for staff. He explained that many expectant mothers were previously discharged due to lack of proper accommodation. The philanthropist assured that the project would be completed within two months, noting that all materials and logistics are ready for a smooth construction process. He also urged the public to support the initiative, stressing that community involvement complements government efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local leaders welcomed the gesture. Mr. David Anani Eglu, Community Health Management Committee Chairman, expressed gratitude and encouraged public support to address other pressing needs at the facility. Dr. Kingsley Gyemfi, in charge of the health centre, highlighted that the new ward would include male, female, and children\u2019s sections and called for further support from philanthropists, groups, and the government to enhance healthcare delivery. Staff pledged full cooperation to ensure the project\u2019s timely completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assembly Member Mr. Israel Selikem Bossman noted that the facility, originally a CHIP compound, has been the only government health centre in the area for about a decade and called for its upgrade to a Polyclinic. He commended Mr. Gbadegbe\u2019s previous contributions, including tiling the Outpatient Department and completing the medical laboratory, which have boosted the centre\u2019s operations.
