In the early hours of February 12, officers came under gunfire near a parked motorbike. Returning fire, they discovered a male suspect dead with an AK47 rifle beside him.

A subsequent search recovered a sack containing additional weapons and ammunition, including two Baikal single-barrel guns, a pump action gun, a Beretta pistol with rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AK47 rifle, 39 BB cartridges, a dagger, a mobile phone, a Honda motorbike, a black mask, and a set of talisman.

The deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy and identification.

The Bono Regional Police Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining gang members.

Authorities are urging citizens to provide credible information to aid in the arrest of those involved in criminal activities.

Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Police, emphasized the command’s commitment to enhancing security and safeguarding communities in the Region.
