Mrs Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has called upon Ghanaians, especially the youth, to rally behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the upcoming December general elections. She emphasized that Dr. Bawumia represents the future of the youth in the country and voting for him would signal a future of innovation and progress.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service for Elder Emmanuel Tobin, the NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency in Accra, Mrs Botchwey highlighted the significance of the December 7 elections as a choice between the future and the past. She urged citizens to cast their votes for Dr Bawumia, emphasizing the potential for innovation and progress under his leadership.
Mrs Botchwey commended President Nana Akufo-Addo and the party leadership for their efforts in implementing various economic and social interventions aimed at improving livelihoods. Drawing from her experience as a former Member of Parliament for the constituency, she stressed the importance of hard work and dedication to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
Echoing Mrs. Botchwey’s sentiments, Mr. Emmanuel Lamptey, former Ga Central Municipal Chief Executive, praised the leadership of the party in the constituency for their commitment to retaining the seat over the years. He highlighted the achievements of the NPP government and expressed confidence in its ability to continue delivering progress and development beyond 2025.
Mr Anthony Boadu, the Constituency Chairman of the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency, called on party members and supporters to intensify their efforts to secure a third term in power. He emphasized the importance of hard work, unity, and resilience in achieving victory and instilling hope and confidence in the citizenry.
In his remarks, Elder Emmanuel Tobin reiterated his commitment to driving infrastructural development in the constituency. Despite scepticism from some quarters, he expressed confidence in the NPP’s ability to break the ‘8’ and deliver on its promises through hard work and dedication.
The calls for support and unity from party leaders underscore the significance of the upcoming elections and the determination of the NPP to secure victory and continue its agenda of progress and development for the nation.
