FIFA unveils official match ball for 2025 Club World Cup

Football’s governing body, FIFA, has announced the Official Match Ball (OMB) for the 2025 Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States.

Presented by FIFA’s long-time partner, adidas, the match ball features a striking design and advanced technology to enhance officiating and gameplay. According to FIFA, the ball’s design incorporates bold graphics and emblems that celebrate the host nation’s heritage.

“Set against a pearlescent background, the match ball showcases striking jagged-edged block patterns and deconstructed stars and stripes in red, white, and blue in a nod to the nation’s flag,” FIFA stated on its official website.

The OMB is designed for greater accuracy in play, featuring PRECISIONSHELL technology— a 20-piece panel shape with strategically placed debossed grooves for improved aerodynamics. Additionally, the CTR-CORE technology enhances accuracy, consistency in flight, and shape retention for fast and precise play.

An integrated connected ball technology transmits inertial measurement unit (IMU) data to the video assistant referee (VAR) system at 500 times per second. Combined with player position data and artificial intelligence, the technology enables faster offside decisions and helps identify each touch of the ball, reducing delays in officiating decisions.

Adidas will also provide uniforms for match officials, volunteers, and FIFA staff, ensuring high-performance apparel that aligns with the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability.

Fans can find details on the tournament’s teams, format, stadiums, tickets, and schedule at FIFA.com.

The 2025 Club World Cup kicks off in Miami, USA, in June 2025.
