Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin – Member of Parliament for Effutu

Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin is the Member of Parliament for Effutu, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He was born on May 27, 1978, and hails from Winneba. He is a Catholic.

Hon. Afenyo-Markin holds an LLB with Management from the University of Buckingham, completed in November 2006. He obtained a Professional Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law in November 2009 and a Master of Arts in International Politics & Security from Bradford University in November 2011. His secondary education was at St. Augustine’s College, where he completed his SSSCE in June 1997. He also obtained his BECE from STC Demonstration Primary & JSS in June 1994.

He has held various positions, including Principal Postal Officer at Ghana Post Company Ltd., Chief Executive at Excel Courier Ghana Ltd., Associate at Dehyena Chambers, and Managing Partner at Afenyo-Markin, Okutu, and Associates.

He is a Ranking Member on the Appointments and Business Committees of Parliament.
