In response to a viral video circulating on , the National Democratic Congress () has vehemently denied allegations that party gurus swore a blood oath.

The NDC has characterized the story as inaccurate and deliberately twisted to suit the agenda of detractors.

Former Director of Elections for the NDC, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, addressed the situation in a statement released on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

He clarified that the ceremony captured in the video took place at his initiative ahead of the 2020 general elections when he held the position of Director of Elections for the party.

Mr Ankrah emphasized his commitment to his role during the 2020 elections and his dedication to ensuring that the party conducted its activities with integrity.

He stressed that the video has no connection to the current national executives or party officials responsible for managing the upcoming 2024 general elections.

“I urge the public to ignore the fake news and assure our members and supporters that the video in question has no bearing on our current leadership.

It is an attempt to mislead and create discord within our party,” stated Ankrah in his release.

The former Director of Elections also called on NDC members and supporters to rally behind the party officials and show support for the national officers in their pursuit of victory in the 2024 elections.
