In a significant incident, the Doli Bridge, a vital link connecting southern Ghana to Upper West and neighbouring countries, has been washed away following heavy rainfall.
The unfortunate event occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 17, 2023.
The Doli Bridge, apart from being a crucial transportation route within Ghana, also serves as a vital link between Burkina Faso and Mali. Consequently, this unforeseen incident has left numerous commuters and hundreds of trucks stranded on both sides of the bridge.
In response to the crisis, Bole Member of Parliament (MP), Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, has taken immediate action by reaching out to various stakeholders.
He has informed the Speaker of Parliament, the Minister of Roads and Highways, and the Savannah Regional Minister regarding the emergency.
MP Alhaji Yussif Sulemana assured the public that measures are being actively put in place to address the emergency, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
