Unknown individuals have caused a stir by destroying the 2022 Anlo Mini Hogbetsotso plaque, which stood as a symbol of the commemoration of the 2022 Hogbetsotso Mini festival hosted by Anlo-Afiadenyigba.
This perplexing incident unfolded during the early hours of Wednesday, October 18, at 0200 hours.
Mr. Bubu Klinogo, Chairman of the Anlo-Afiadenyigba Youth Council, expressed his concern through a news release.
He revealed that preliminary investigations suggested that the culprits, who numbered approximately seven, donned masks during the act.
“These young men were said to be holding machetes and other sharp weapons,” the release mentioned.
An alert eyewitness called upon the youth of Anlo-Afiadenyigba, who swiftly responded to the situation.
Regrettably, they were unable to apprehend the perpetrators, who had fled the scene.
Klinogo strongly condemned the incident, referring to it as “barbaric and criminal.”
He assured that the youth council would take immediate steps to formally report the matter to the relevant authorities.
Additionally, the youth council pledged to collaborate with the appropriate state authorities to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
They called on the public to remain calm while awaiting the commencement of the police investigation.
This bizarre act of vandalism has left the Anlo-Afiadenyigba community shocked and determined to seek justice for the destruction of their plaque.
