Ningo-Prampram MP and Minister-Designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has criticized Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for his alleged mistreatment of Madam Gifty Jiagge Gobah, Clerk to the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
In a statement, George described Afenyo-Markin’s actions as “despicable” and “misogynistic,” asserting that such behaviour is unacceptable, especially from a leader of Parliament. He emphasized that Madam Gobah, a parliamentary staff member for 18 years, deserves respect.
George called on the Clerk of Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, to formally raise the matter with Speaker Alban Bagbin and urged Parliament to address the issue. He expressed solidarity with Madam Gobah, commending her composure and resilience.
